A simple hand puppet made from fabric can be a fun toy for your child. This is a fun project that anyone can do.
To begin, use a pencil to draw the puppet pattern onto a piece of stiff paper or lightweight cardboard. Start by drawing the head and neck, and then make arm shapes that stretch outward. When drawing the underarm points, make sure that they are narrow enough to let the wearer insert a thumb in one arm and the little finger in the other. Make the other fingers will extend into the head. Add 1/2 inch to the completed puppet outline to allow for a seam allowance. After cutting out the pattern, pin the material together wrong side out. Sew the seams together, and then turn the puppet right side out. Add surface decorations, such as buttons or any stitching to decorate and make a face. Then glue on pieces of felt for clothing or other features, and accentuate it however you wish.
Once this is completed, allow it to dry, and then you are ready to test it out and surprise your child. This will be a toy that gives them a lot of joy, and keeps them occupied for many years to come.
